Image previewMrs Glynn has, since 2006, acted as Director of FRENZ – Facilitating Research cooperation between Europe and New Zealand. FRENZ is a co-funded activity of the European Commission and the New Zealand Ministry of Research, Science and Technology to deliver guidance and support to the New Zealand research community to stimulate engagement in Framework Programme 7.

Whilst the FRENZ pilot project was funded through MoRST and EC DG External Relations (2006-2008), the FRENZ FP7 EU-NZ International Cooperation bilateral platform is supported jointly by MoSRT and DG Research for three years, from 1 January 2009.

Mrs Glynn brings a unique blend of skills gained through almost 15 years of experience with successive Framework Programmes; as a researcher, an administrator, an organisational advisor, and a national contact point. After completing her Masters, Carole was a researcher and project administrator with PREST at the University of Manchester, UK. During this time, she was involved with several socio-economic research projects - at both regional and national levels - and cross-national activities through FP4 and FP5.

Since 2001, Mrs Glynn has been a National Contact Point for various Framework Programmes: first for the UK, at UK Research Office (UKRO), in Brussels; and more recently for New Zealand where, since 2006, she has been the public face of FRENZ.
