The European Gender Summit – Quality Research and Innovation through Equality

Unprecedented opportunity to contribute to the development of policies and actions to join scientific excellence and gender equality agendas as part of the 2nd European Gender Summit, which will take place at the European Parliament on 29-30 November.

The timing is very important because Europe's science policy is at the centre of an intense political debate about the role and benefits of investment in R&D. The 2012 Gender Summit brings together top level scientific leaders and policy makers, as well as gender research scholars and experts. 30 speakers from leading institutions (e.g. EC, ERC, DFG) and 300 attendees from across Europe, and beyond, will discuss how research and innovation can benefit from addressing common gender issues in science to improve quality and open up new markets for science knowledge. The discussion will be open to the wider community of scientists, policy makers and gender experts through the Gender Summit community portal, which will provide them with the opportunity for networking, contributing questions and views to the Cafe Scientifique events and creating collaborative partnerships.
