2013 PACIFIC RESEARCH COLLOQUIUM Developing Pacific Scholarship
ANU Campus, Canberra 28 January – 7 February 2013

Call for Applications
State Society and Governance in Melanesia Program is offering twelve scholarship awards to graduate students and scholars from universities, research institutions or professional bodies in the Pacific Islands and Timor Leste, to participate in the 2013 Pacific Research Colloquium.

Payment of full travel costs to and from Canberra, plus accommodation, will be provided to successful applicants from the Pacific and Timor Leste.
The Colloquium provides an opportunity for younger Pacific researchers to develop research capacity with some of the top Pacific scholars in Australia. The program includes:
 Leading Pacific scholars discussing current issues
 ANU scholars providing feedback on participant research
 Guided introductions to research resources at the ANU
 Participant presentations on their research
Parliament & Embassy visits
 Social events

To Apply: Send an abstract (less than 250 words) drawing on research you are currently or have recently undertaken and how you wish to develop this during your visit to ANU, as well as the topic of your proposed short presentation during the second week at the Pacific Research Colloquium. Please include a brief biographical description explaining who you are and which institution or organisation you are affiliated with.

Application Deadline: 5pm: 21 SEPTEMBER 2012

Successful applicants will be notified by 15 October 2012 and will be required to submit a full draft paper by 16 November 2012. Award of the Scholarship will be dependent on receipt of draft research paper.
Applications from women are strongly encouraged.
