Increased access to mobile phones has improved communication for Pacific Islanders. High-speed broadband is coming next.
Comprising thousands of islands across a large ocean, countries in the Pacific region are among the most remote in the world. Increased access to mobile phones has improved communication among the population, and broadband internet is coming soon. The World Bank continues to place Information and Communication Technologies high on the agenda in the Pacific to help support the region’s development.
