ProSPER.Net: An academic network for Education for Sustainable Development

The network for the Promotion of Sustainability in Postgraduate Education and Research (ProSPER.Net) is a network of several leading higher education institutions in Asia and the Pacific that have committed to work together to integrate Sustainable Development (SD) into postgraduate courses and curricula. Member institutions involved, such as the USP, have strong education and research programmes in sustainable development and related fields.

This is relevant to:

- institutions in the Pacific with strong education and research programmes as well as experience in postgraduate education and research in Sustainable Development (SD) and Education for Sustainable Development (ESD)-related fields.

- young scientists or researchers based in the Asia-Pacific region, who have made significant contributions in the area of Sustainable Development to apply for the annual "Prosper.Net-Scopus Young Scientist Award in Sustainable Development".

For 2011, awards will be given in each of three areas: "ICT for Sustainable Development", "Biodiversity and Natural Resource Management" and "Science & Technology with a Focus on Poverty Eradication".
